Five

“Nonsense. Young boys should never be sent to bed.
They always wake up a day older,
and then before you know it, they're grown.”
- J.M. Berrie -

Gideon turned five on February 1st. Five?!

He requested a Wild Kratts cake, and Jonathan delivered with a Creature Power suit in GOBy's favorite colors - green and blue. We had his favorite dinner - lasagna - and cake and presents. He was quite impressed with the light saber Evelyn got him, and the walkie talkies he'd been wishing for so that he and Evelyn can talk when they're apart.

At five, Gideon is full of energy and laughter. He says he wants to be "an Astronaut who can't read" when he grows up. He's aware that his big sister knows how to read but he doesn't yet. He's also pretty nervous about losing his teeth. For a long time, he insisted he never wanted to turn five because he was NOT OKAY with his teeth falling out. Growing up is rough.

We love you so much, buddy. Even though you still don't sleep through the night most nights. You give the best hugs in the world, and you're kind and brave and you have a very big heart. It's a joy to be your mom.
