Octobers

The kidlets had their annual school field trip to the pumpkin patch on Monday. It was everything a preschool field trip is expected to be. Chaotic, fun, hilarious, exhausting, funny, and - this year - bittersweet because it's the last year at the patch for Evelyn's class.

And last weekend was our friends' annual Oktoberfest party. Good food, delicious beverages, and a gorgeous night for a fire.

Of course, it's not fall without football. I force the kids to wear K-State gear every Saturday and I stay glued to my computer to watch the games.

Go STATE!
That's the gist of it for us these days. I'm still working like it's going out of style, and I keep telling myself (and my family and my therapist) that I'll slow down at some point. I'm slowly inching towards balance and self-care, but dang it's hard. I just got approved to that the EPPP (licensing exam) so that added a whole new level of freakout and ate up a nice chunk of money. I just keep reminding myself that this is life, this. Right now. This is part of it. So I'm trying to be here. There is joy here.

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.
