I had off all week for Spring Break, and the time seriously flew by as I tried to fill the days with as much as possible. Meetings, supervision, playdates, mom's night out at The Melting Pot (hello, free cheese fondue!), more playdates, housework, dissertation... We were all over the map as we met friends and family in Chapel Hill, Cary, Morrisville, Durham, Raleigh, Fuquay-Varina, Apex, and Angier. Here are a few highlights from this week!

I put Gideon down in the crib to put away some laundry and Evelyn climbed in, found a paci, and laid down just like baby Gideon. Of course when I got the camera out she sat up and tried to grab it.
We took a day-before Easter wagon walk around the neighborhood.
We had a "girls only" slumber party (Evelyn, Olive, and Mom) which involved building a big nest in the living room and watching Thomas the Tank Engine episodes until we all fell asleep.
I finally took Gideon's two-month photos and I learned that he is much more willing to give me smiles than was his serious sister during her two-month photo shoot:
(Flashback to May 2010 when E was two months old)
Evelyn's school had their annual International Fiesta, featuring all of the teachers dressed up in costumes traditional to their countries of origin and various songs performed by the wee ones. It was lots of fun and chaos as usual.
Evelyn's class, Las Mariquitas (the little ladybugs) performed a traditional song from Columbia called Mi Cabillito (My Little Horse). Evelyn made it through the song without crying!
Today we had appointments for both cars, so while the Fit was getting worked on we enjoyed a nice family breakfast at Mimi's Cafe (only two trips outside for time-out for a certain little girl), and then we visited Millbrook Exchange park. I'd been there before with Olive, and we'd visited the splash park there last summer, but we never checked out the playground. We were happily surprised to see an old-school metal playground!
Evelyn quickly learned the ropes and was all over the playground on her own. We played and played until the Fit was finally ready, and then we went and dropped off the Prius.
Gideon didn't mind the waiting, which was really more like eating and napping and babbling about this and that on a blanket at the park.
So that's the week that was. I'm not 100% thrilled to be headed back to work because I know I have so much to do, but I am ready to get back to the routine and get through the rest of the school year so that I can enjoy spending this summer with the kidlets!
