We took in Raleigh's 30th annual St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday. Perfect weather and a nice spot on the Capitol lawn made for a good parade indeed! We didn't make it through the whole thing because Evelyn wanted to start wandering around, so we took off and had some Chinese for lunch (where we watched sadly as K-State get knocked out of the tournament).
The highlight of the parade for me was seeing the Irish dancers in their curly wigs, knee socks, and fancy dresses. In only three short years, Evelyn will be among them ;) And her brother can play the bagpipes.
Gideon slept through the whole parade. Maybe I should buy some bagpipe music to lull him to sleep? Or perhaps it was the annoying ambulance and fire truck sirens that relaxed him so.
Evelyn generally had her skeptical look throughout the parade. She did dance and wave a little, but I think she was mostly wondering why we were all sitting and watching all these strange things make their way down the street.
