I'm slowly trying to transform Evelyn's room into Evelyn and Baby Dos's room. We really didn't do much to it while it was Evelyn's anyhow - it was painted yellow (like the rest of the house) when we moved in, so we left that and added some furniture and a light fixture Abby made and that was it.

Looking at those early pictures now, I must say I'm impressed. Because currently the room is not looking quite so put together...

I moved the crib into the closet, and it fits pretty well. It sticks out a little bit, but it's a cozy little crib nook overall. At some point I'll get around to painting the inside of the nook. It's going to be a sort of cinnamon orange color to go with (but not match exactly) the "Dot Fun" fabric that you can see on the crib skirt there. Those are kinda the colors that the room is going to be decorated around. The main walls in the room will one day go from yellow to a cool white, so that the room doesn't scream YELLOWYELLOWYELLOW as a result of the combination of yellow walls and a light fixture that turns things a little yellow (it's paper lanterns).
I'm also planning to put a curtain rod up over the crib nook, and then I'll have white curtains on either side that I'm going to liven up with a stripe of Dot Fun fabric transplanted from a pair of short curtains in that print that I got before Evelyn was born. Those curtains used to be on the window in the kidlets' room, but I've put long white curtains on that window now too. I'll liven them up the same way at some point, with a stripe of Dot Fun fabric. I also bought a Dot Fun shower curtain just to have more of the fabric, and my plans for that involve making some throw pillows and possibly upholstering the box springs of Evelyn's bed with it... We'll see.
Oh I also have this decal to go in the crib nook. I have it in white so it'll stand out on the cinnamon wall:

So those are the plans at least. I'll keep you updated if I make any progress!
As for Baby Dos's impending arrival, I'm feeling NOT READY! I have two reports to finish up for work, that whole dissertation thing for school (not happening before baby comes, by the way), packing to finish, the house to clean so I don't come home from the hospital and feel compelled to clean... Oh and I'm supposed to be resting in the hopes of keeping baby cooking for as long as possible. Riiiight.
On Tuesday I will be considered full term at 37 weeks. I see Dr. Nervous (not his real name) in the morning, followed by my first non-stress test. We'll see what he says! Evelyn as born at 37 weeks and 4 days, so my new goal is to make it to January 22nd so Baby Dos will have longer to incubate than Evelyn did. It will all just depend on how I'm doing I suppose. E was knocked out all day Friday with an icky stomach bug and Jonathan has it today, so fingers crossed that I don't get that. It could complicate things if I am suddenly super sick!
