Just another post about vomit.

You can't say you weren't warned!

So, Evelyn is definitely in the "monkey see, monkey do" stage and she learns so much from what she sees and hears every day. I'm not sure what exactly she'll learn from seeing mommy with her head in the toilet/sink/nearest receptacle on a regular basis, though. Here are her reactions so far:

  • Stand a few feet away and cry. Like, seriously wail and have big tears until I'm finished.
  • Try to get between me and the sink, to push me away. Like, "Come on mom, puking is no fun. Let's go play."
  • Find the nearest little bowl or measuring cup and stand right next to me and pretend to throw up (stick out tongue, make coughing noises into bowl). If she's in the mood for this one and can't find a bowl, she will run around me crying and frantically looking for something until I grab the nearest trash can or whatever for her to pretend to spew into.
  • Squat down right in front of me and giggle. Then laugh. Big belly laugh. (This one is not my favorite - but perhaps she's just trying to cheer me up?)

So that's how we spend a few quality moments each day. I still have my fingers crossed that things will improve sooner rather than 27 weeks from now, because Jonathan will be the first to tell you that I am not a good sick person. I pretty much do nothing all day, every day. Nothing but grow a baby!

I have my second doc appointment this week, and it'll be the first time I meet my resident so I'm excited for that. It'll be a different experience to go through the whole pregnancy meeting with only one person for every appointment. Then she will be one of three possible residents on duty when I deliver, so there's a 33% chance she'll catch the baby. Although I know from my last experience that I care much more about my nursing staff than I do about the doc who will only be there for a minute!

So sorry to hear you're so sick--if it helps, I can identify. I was sick 38 of 40 weeks when I was expecting my E. Yuck. I hope you get a break soon!

I love your blog and the stories you share. Thanks for letting me stop by!
