We headed out to Ft. Fisher beach on Saturday with Evelyn and my cousin Parker who was visiting us from Colorado for a couple weeks. Evelyn loved it. She couldn't get enough. She liked to go out in the big waves and sit (or try to stand) on the boogie board, she liked to sit on Jonathan's shoulders as he walked out into the deep water, and she loved sitting on the beach and dripping the wet sand on her legs.
Our beach time was cut a little short after Parker twisted his foot and we set out to find some crutches, ice, and advil. I think Evelyn would have been content to stay there all day though! Next time we'll have to get some beach toys - she kept wandering over to other kids' toys and trying to play with them.
Now that we know she loves the beach as much as we do (hello COLD water - so much better than the bathtub public pools we've tried this summer), we'll have to try to make it to the beach for a bit longer next summer.
