Sorry I have no pics of the cuteness today - my camera's latch broke and it's really frustrating trying to use it lately. Maybe I'll remember to pack it with us and have it looked at when we're in Wichita so I can use it when we're in Kansas.
Anyway, to the story...
Evelyn is in school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings this summer and I usually pick her up just as she's finishing her lunch. Every day, without fail, her teachers tell me what a great eater she is. Today the also told me that what really impresses them is that she's "just such an organized eater." That cracked me up. They said she's methodical and careful and all business when it's time to eat. She sits down, waits for her bib, gets the plate, starts with her favorite food first and eats all of it, and then moves along.
An organized eater.
They also routinely tell us that she will eat anything and everything and she's the easiest one in the class when it comes to food. I love it. Maybe I'll make her a little construction paper ribbon award with "best eater" to match my own preschool award saying "best napper." (Actually, that's pretty funny because I seem to have completely lost the napping skills I clearly had at age 4. But more on my napping issues another day.)
We've also started to sing a little song I made up about brushing teeth every night, and she LOVES it. After jammies are on, I start to sing the song and she gets a huge smile and runs to the bathroom, opens the drawer, and stands on her tippy toes to grab her toothpaste and toothbrush. Then she brushes to her heart's content and finally signs "all done" and hands us the brush. She mostly just chews on the brush, which actually works pretty well since she still has just the 4 teeth. The ped at her 15 mo. checkup said lucky us for her not having more teeth - less to worry about! He said she'll have 20 teeth by the time she's 3 and he'll guarantee that but he won't make any promises about how or when or where they'll appear before then.
Alright that's tonight's mind dump. Time to go watch extreme couponing and write a report for the clinic. Is it vacation time yet?
