The Terrible Tues.

Before the start of every semester, I get all excited about how good my schedule is going to be. So flexible. So free. So... not requiring me to be on campus every single day.

And about one week in to every semester, it hits me: My schedule is a mess. I have to be on campus at some point pretty much every day... save a few Saturdays and Sundays.

This semester, my downfall will be Tuesdays. 15 of them stand between me and winter break.

Between leaving the house at 7:15 and getting home around 7:15, I have three 15-minute breaks in the day. Two of those are pretty much consumed with packing up and moving from building to building for a class.

I'm working on the problem solving required to figure out pumping, eating, and going to the bathroom during these 12 hour stretches on Tuesdays. I think if I can figure out how to do all three with some regularity, I should just be given my Ph.D. on the spot.

This looks miserable! Did I seriously see writing class in that schedule? Writing class? Um....can't you submit your blog and get a pass?

Good luck! I will be thinking of you on Tuesdays!

Ha - yeah writing class is optional but I finally decided to enroll in it this semester. It's basically a way to force me to write my dissertation - you have to log 9-14 hours of writing time each week and then during class we peer edit. Ick.

Yes, they should give you a PhD on the spot.

And I am a pro at the semester countdown. I will happily join you in it should you need the company. :)
