Day in the life: Midnight to 9 AM

I thought I'd fill you in on my life these days with a little day-in-the-life action. So here's Part One in a series...

We start with a whiny little Beagle who typically wakes me up before the alarm. I let her go out back. She has me trained pretty well, eh?

Back to bed for a few minutes before this wakes me again:

And then, the highlight. Evelyn's good morning smiles are perhaps the best ever.

We usually have time for the Mouse to eat 1/2 of her breakfast...

... and then rest in bed with Dad while I get ready for the day.

Then it's time for Dad to go to work. He's usually pretty goofy in the morning.

Of course, Evelyn misses most of his antics since she's stuck looking at the seats.

We often hang out in the car in a shady spot of the parking lot at Jonathan's office so Evelyn can finish her breakfast while I listen to NPR. It's one of my favorite times. The backseat is a surprisingly supportive and comfortable place to nurse.

Then we either head to school to do some work, or back home to do different sorts of work. There is usually some laundry to be done, so Evelyn joins in while I hang the diapers on the line. When the basket is empty, I scoop her up with our big outside blanket and carry her back inside in the basket. She loves it.

... and just like that, it's 10 AM!

More to come :)
