I tend to forget things. Some call it "Mommy Brain" but I think there's relatively solid research to support the notion that one's working memory can only do so much. I can only hold so many tasks and items in mind, while juggling the baby and the animals and school and such. Something's gotta give. So today's blog is a bit random but it'll give you a quick recap of the latest and greatest around these parts.
Jonathan broke in his Father's Day gift last night by grilling some pork tenderloin and asparagus. I think I ate almost the entire bunch of grilled asparagus. Just looking at it now makes me drool. The loin was also quite good. And it's so quick! Me gusta.
Today we hit up "your neighborhood butcher" at The Meat House in Cary. I am a Meat House convert. The store is awesome, full of fresh and delicious meats, sauces, veggies, Maple View dairy products, wines and beers, fresh bread, tons of dehydrated fruits and veggie snacks... not to mention all kinds of sample stations. Oh and they give you a free package of their special marinated beef tips if it's your first time. Seriously. And it's quiet and calm as opposed to Trader Joe's just down the way, a store with similarly cool stuff but crammed with so many people that I get all fidgety and freaked out and don't shop there. So, I got a little filet and Jonathan picked out a nice prime rib for this weekend's grilling adventures.
Evelyn has been getting all sorts of clothes from her Momo and her MeeMaw lately. Jonathan and I joke that we'll never need to buy her clothes at this rate. I think apart from the preemie-sized stuff we grabbed right when we had her, the only thing we've bought is a new pack of onesies. Seriously. It's awesome and she loves her clothes.
Speaking of awesome, we found a street in Cary called Awesome Street today.
That carrier in the picture up top is a Baby Hawk that I'm borrowing from my sister-in-law. And it is truly awesome. I really want one. Really really.
Cloth diapering is still going along swimmingly. Soon we'll be making the switch to washable wipes. I'm pretty excited about that. I just need to get a few more since I cleaned out the small stash that was left at The Diapering Doula store today. I'm also excited that The Diapering Doula is now carrying liquid Charlie's Soap!
Alright I think that covers it for now. Summer is good.

What's this meat place you speak of? Is their meat local? Is it grass-fed and finished? I need to know more b/c since moving to almost all local food, we haven't really eaten meat. I need a resource.
