We headed over to our summer home* this afternoon for some swimming. It was Evelyn's first time, so photos were obligatory. The swimsuit (hers) was the only swimsuit in all of Target in her size. Now we know not to wait until June to buy a suit. Evelyn enjoyed the water, after the initial shock wore off. And we got out just in time to drive home in one of those gorgeous summer afternoon rainshowers. She was exhausted and hungry, and after a good scrub-down with my favorite baby soap ever and some story time, down she went with no problem.
* That's right, people. Since we closed on our new house in April and couldn't get out of our townhouse lease, we have a summer home. With a pool! The swimming was a must because we spent the morning dealing with the belongings we still haven't finished moving from the old place. As in, I spent far too long in the HOT attic handing heavy stuff down to Jonathan. Did I mention it was HOT? Oh, and I'm loving the coloring in that photo of me and Miss Mouse. I think I should stand under yellow umbrellas at about 3 PM in the summer and be photographed more often. Don't you?
