I'm not sure exactly when these things happened, because the days and nights and hours and weeks have all melded into one lately. But things have happened. Good things. Like these:- Evelyn had her first breakfast at Elmo's along with me and my mom (her Momo). She enjoyed watching me eat a waffle and scrambled eggs. She likes watching me be able to eat food.
- First visit to Poe Hall, where she attended a dissertation defense rehearsal and then got to tour the campus with Momo. She also had her first "fast food" meal when she ate in the backseat of the car in the parking deck on campus (car was not moving - no worries).
- First walk in the Moby Wrap from Aunt Abby and Uncle Adrian. And I had a first when I was finally able to get her wrapped up in the kangaroo hold all by myself and take her for a walk with Olive.
- First trip to Target.
- First outing in the ring sling from Hideki, with me for a morning walk with Olive and later that day with Jonathan at Target. She likes to be worn.
- First nursing in semi-public experience while eating in the Mothers' room at Babies R Us. We met a cute little 9-week old baby, Etta, and her mom down for Easter from DC. And I learned that babies are great icebreakers. Never a shortage of conversation when you're talking about your kid.
So those are a few of our firsts thus far. Evelyn is doing well. The past couple of days have brought an interesting eat/sleep pattern wherin she cluster feeds from 4-10 PM and then she sleeps from like midnight to six or seven AM. That's pretty awesome. I only have to wake up to pump and then I get to build up my milk (aka liquid gold) stash. She's a pretty good Mouse.
