Jonathan kicked off the weekend on Friday afternoon, when his work got together to assemble 10,000 meals to be sent to kids around the world through school lunch programs. His job during the group assembly session was to lift 50 lb. bags repeatedly. This meant that I have spent a few chunks of the rest of the weekend trying to massage his sore muscles - it's been a while since he had to do manual labor!
I kicked off the weekend with a massage, and then yesterday Abby hosted an incredible, perfect little baby shower for me! How lucky am I?! There were dots everywhere and the girls from school came and we had cherry limeades thanks to Adrian (even better than Sonic's!) and everyone painted little canvases for Baby B. It was just perfect, really. Then we had an impromptu dinner with Amy and Josh and Madeline, and by the time we got home I was so tired I could barely talk.
Today I got up at 3:33 AM and waddled downstairs where I proceeded to do pretty much nothing until I finally got an hour nap in around 6 AM. Olive didn't even come downstairs with me - she opted to stay cuddled in bed with Jonathan. I would have done the same but this giant belly sometimes doesn't agree. I eventually decided to be productive and I got a few things done: finished the labor playlist for my ipod, got the packing list out, and planned the week's menu and groceries.
Jonathan and I went to Target to try to procure some pumping stuff and random postpartum stuff on my list, and thank goodness he was there because even with the limited options at Target, my eyes glazed over with trying to find compatible parts and such for the pump. We grabbed some lunch at Jason's Deli and then headed over to the Morrisville Fire Department for a car seat installation check. Good thing we did that! We found out that most cars aren't designed for the car seat to be safely installed in the middle of the backseat, which is where we had ours. We could have found this out reading our car owner's manual, but it was good that the fireman told us. Now the seat is in a safe position. He checked the serial number to make sure it's not on any recall list and gave us some tips and pointers for safety. Very helpful.
After that we stocked up on some groceries and got the exterior of the car washed, and now we're home. Jonathan and Olive are playing and I think I might lie down for a little nap if the body decides it wants to sleep. I think the only thing left on my list today is to cut Jonathan's hair and keep working on laundry...
No signs of Baby B's arrival yet. I almost don't want to get our bags packed because then we'll be too ready and I think (s)he'll never come ;)
