I just had a knock on my door. It was a very kind young woman who introduced herself as a fourth-year dental student at UNC's Dental school (the school my dentist recently graduated from). Wouldn't you know it - she explained that they have to find patients in their fourth year and do dental work at the school, all for free.
Free.
I was very sad to explain that I literally just finished my extensive (expensive) dental work, but she offered to schedule me a free cleaning and x-rays just to check - and to give her some experience. I agreed. I'm definitely not passing up free dental care. But I could have been a practicing goldmine for her if she'd only knocked on my door five months ago!
