Fahrenheit 140

... that's the temperature at which yeast dies.

I'll send you over to Jonathan's blog today for a recap of what we spent most of yesterday doing! I have not tried the finished product as I was actually asleep before it was all said and done. It seriously took all day.

But you have to learn sometime, right?

***** UPDATE ******

(Does anyone else have a flashback to Unsolved Mysteries when I say "update" like that? No? It's just me? Man that show used to creep me all the way out.)

No one out here seems to know what a bierock is. All the kids at school laughed at me. Sniffle, sniffle.

Mmmmm...bierocks! My grandma makes them and my first attempt at them after we were married wasn't so great. They tasted good, but weren't quite right. Practice and you'll be experts before long!!

Ooooohhhh seashell! I'm so proud of both of you! Your tenacity is amazing! And, now I'm starving so I've gotta go find something to eat... Preferably a bierock... xoxomom

you won't believe this but it is true. Today a client of Richard's (who just happens to bake the bierocks at the bierock place on Central) brought him in some bierocks! Amazing. So we will also enjoy some this evening. I hope you didn't share your bierocks with the people who laughed at you! Their loss!!! Terry B

I think the name Bierocks is pretty much a Kansas thing ... in most places they're pierogis or runzas. And I will try the zwieback dough. That's always been my downfall when I try to make bierocks -- crappy dough. You've inspired me to try againandagainandagain. xoBryan

Excellent! Yeah they're delicious. Very quick dinner to just take from the freezer and zap!
