High-speed moving.

A timeline of recent events:

  • Thursday 8/14 - Jonathan is offered a job. There is much rejoicing.
  • Friday 8/15 - Jonathan accepts job. We put in our application for a townhouse we've been eyeing. We get a call a couple of hours later that we've been accepted for said townhouse.
  • Saturday 8/16 - After Chelsea's long run, we meet with the leasing office and complete paperwork. We get keys to our new place. We move a few boxes from our storage unit (which is conveniently like 1 block away) - kitchen stuff. We go for a swim with three cool people. We make tacos and have our first meal in the new place with the same cool people. We sleep on the floor.
  • Sunday 8/17 - The day is spent moving many small loads from the storage unit to the house (do I call it an apartment?) with the Prius. Also, Chelsea's vicious cold starts to set in and make her very tired and sickly.
  • Monday 8/18 - We ran various errands and made various calls to get things like water, internet, etc. set up. More moving. More unpacking. We rented a pick-up from U-Haul, which is a pretty good deal. Jonathan and Adrian moved the big stuff in the evening, and the storage unit is now empty! Jonathan and I hadn't had dinner yet at about 9 PM, so we drove around a little and found a Chik-Fil-A. We waited a very long time for our food and there seemed to be much confusion inside the place. In the end, they never asked us to pay. We enjoyed our free dinner as we watched Batman Begins until falling asleep.
  • Tuesday 8/19 - Woke up early to return the rental truck. Got a sweet refund because we didn't use very many miles. And now I'm at school enjoying the internet and lamenting the evil cold which has taken over my sensitive ears. In a bit I'll go upstairs and have some free breakfast and meet my classmates before a day of orientation.
Jonathan would also probably like me to note that he has gone swimming every day since we've moved in. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it a point to go every day until the pool closes at the end of September. (The end of September?! I know! Unlike those namby-pamby Kansas pools, this one's open from April 1 to September 30!).
