So tired.

I really don't know how parents of babies ever sleep. Felix had a few catnaps last night, but Aunt Shultz certainly did not. Felix also had an extended nap this afternoon in the sling (still going strong!), while Aunt Shultz walked down to the Starbucks on Mass for a blended lemonade.

I've heard these blended lemonades are delicious. But mine tastes just like iced tea, and it's not blended at all - more like... iced. It says "BL" next to my name on the cup, and when they called it out they said "Blended Lemonade" but I swear it's iced tea. Maybe I'm wrong... Has anyone ever tried a blended lemonade? I was expecting a frappuccino-like consistency, but with a refreshing lemon mix instead of coffee. Hm.

Well I think there's a polygamy thing on Oprah and the little man's getting wiggly, so I'm off. One more night and day with him and then sweet, sweet sleep will be mine. (Maybe parents just get to the point where they pass out? I really don't know.)

this babysitting thing are you doing an extended version or something? If so that could be a real turn off -- especially if you are not mentally ready! Terry B.

Yeah we had him last night, today, tonight and we'll have him tomorrow until late evening. I agreed to this before he was even born so his parents could go to St. Louis :) I'm tired for sure, but I love it. We're not ready for our own - always there - but we're always up for quality time with the nephews! We won't get to see much of him when we move, and it's nice to be able to give my brother and Lisa a break!

That's so great of you to take that on. Plus he's at the age where babies are their fussiest so props to you for giving mom and dad a break.

I had the same expectation for the Blended Lemonade and I got the same tea thing. Maybe the BL is only available in certain places b/c I do NOT call what I had lemonade.

Hey Chelsea! It's Hannah, from xanga.

I'm the momma of a 13 month old, and I think there must be some hormone released the minute you give birth that allows you to go days without sleep. This hormone seems to wear off within six to nine months. If you are me, your baby will happily start sleeping about 12 hours at night and you feel like a new person!
