Not ready yet!

Yesterday we babysat Felix all day. He's not an especially difficult baby or anything - he just has that baby quality wherein he cries and isn't able to verbalize his wants and needs. Playing detective to figure out the problem was tiring (even though the solution was generally either feed him, diaper him, or soothe him to sleep). I was already a tad tired from Friday night's BBQ, so I tried to sleep. Of course he seemed to know exactly when I was on the verge of sleep, and he'd wake up again.

Jonathan said that pacifiers are great, and then added that "They should make pacifier muzzles for kids, so they don't come out." And that's when we both knew that we're definitely not ready yet. ;)

Felix sure showed you what he thought of saying, "Hi!"

That's awesome.

I don't think anyone is ever ready. There's no way you could be. We, too, often wished for a pacifier muzzle since Linus refused to keep one in his mouth and instead needed a human to soothe on.

Good to know that Linus isn't the only one with the amazing ability to know when the caregiver's head is touching a pillow.

Oh and that spew was fantastic. Brought back a lot of memories.
