I forgot to mention that I finished Anita Shreve's Sea Glass. I suppose it's what I was going for: free (one of a handful of books I gathered from my grandmother's apartment after she died), engaging, and easy to read. I was also hoping for "not too depressing" but I had read another Shreve novel, The Pilot's Wife, so I was prepared to cry. Oh, and it was also set in The Great Depression era, so I'm failing at non-depressing things lately. All things considered, I give it three stars for "liked it" and I'll move on.
I'm struggling to focus on A New Earth because it requires me to think - both while reading and afterwards - about life, philosophical questions, and myself. And I don't have the time to do those things properly without feeling guilty because I should be doing school things. So that might be a summer read.

6. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls
7. Sea Glass
(And by the way, I'm loving Google Book Search! Google will soon be able to do everything for us. They were talking on the news tonight about google pairing up with local transit authorities so that you can enter your starting point and destination and it will tell you how to get there using public transportation! Pretty cool deal for the public-transport challenged like myself.)
