Super Tuesday

I decided to brave it and attend the Kansas caucus myself this evening. It was thrilling from start to finish. No, really! Lots of waiting in line, but totally worth it.

First I waited in line in my car for about 45 minutes. Then I waited in a line in the sleet and snow to get into the building. Then I waited in line to sign in. Then I waited some more. In the end, the caucus I attended had 2,218 in attendance and Obama took about 1,850. The Clinton crowd was just barely viable on the first count, but they gained most of the undecided group after realignment. It was just so good to be a part of it all. Oh, and then I waited in line to leave.

The newscasters are saying that some KS caucus locations were completely overwhelmed by the turnout. In KCK, for example, one site expected 300 and got 3,000. In Olathe a bunch of them were held outside because the buildings simply wouldn't work for the crowds. That's all just so inspiring and exciting to me.

Obama wins Kansas...

YES WE CAN!

P.S. Another thing that makes today super? Well, it's the one-week countdown 'til my birthday, of course :)

I almost called you last night while Richard and I too were at the caucus! Yes! It was exciting and history making! We were at the WSU complex. They had expected 400-500 and almost 1700 showed up! They had 700 people registering to vote there. Many of them changing from Republican to Democratic! Amazing! Obama took over 1300 of the votes and Hillary took over 200. The undecideds and Richardsons and Edwards all changed to Hillary before the evening was over. But it was a really inspiring evening here too!
