Not so bad

It turns out that the terrible, awful Prius hit-and-run wasn't nearly as bad as my catastrophic mind had me believing. Jonathan was able to pop the bumper back into place, leaving only some scratched paint and white paint from the car that hit us. But still, it's the principle of it all... Don't mess up someone's car, even a little bit, and drive off without leaving a note.

Well, my new job as up-for-anything intern is to co-lead parenting classes. I'm excited to learn more about "Love and Logic" parenting, as that seems to be the main method pushed at CMHCs these days. It should be good. The classes are primarily aimed at preventing child abuse, and they're free and open to the public. That should lead to diverse groups and issues. I'll let you know how it goes.

Wow! From the quick stuff I've read online about Love and Logic, it sounds fabulous. I used so much of this type of "discipline" in my classroom and had "the good kids" (or so others would say about my students). My #1 rule in dealing with student conflicts was "don't let yourself (the teacher) get pulled into an argument". I may have to read both the parent (since I have to prepared in that way) and the teacher versions... plus learn more from the expert (you).
