They're more fun without context.
Therapist: What day is it?
Me: It's today.
Therapist: You know what the fuck I meant.*
Me: ... so all might not be lost. Maybe Friday was just a bad day.
Therapist: Yeah, maybe someone was jumping to conclusions, mind-reading, and seeing the world through shit-colored glasses. Maybe.
Me: Ha. Another gold star for you, therapist.
Things have been going alright around here lately. The kids are good. When they're crabby, I put them in water.
Evelyn has taken to wearing my heels. Her options are pretty limited, as I have one pair that I got at Target for a wedding years ago.
Her class went on a field trip to the airport and got to check out the firetruck. Evelyn absolutely did not raise her hand when asked if she wanted to be a firefighter when she grows up. She crossed her arms over her chest and gave everyone a skeptical look instead.

Jonathan is off the blood thinners... hooray! And the hematologist told him that he didn't even have a pulmonary embolism in the first place? Um, thanks for the info, doc. That would have been helpful to know like 6 months ago. But he's feeling good. Still can't go a couple weeks without a doctor's appointment, but maybe once the stents come out that'll happen.
I'm just moving along. Working, cleaning, sleeping. Being grateful that I have a job (mass layoffs this week... never a great morale-booster). But I've also fit in some "hanging out with friends" time at least weekly and that's always nice. And I have "Friendcation Volume 2: Return of the Friendcation" to look forward to in September! This year we're taking the town of Avon by storm. So. excited.
