Today was a good day. We woke up far too early in order to drop off the Prius for service, we went to Elmo's for breakfast, and then we stopped by the Club Boulevard Garden Club's plant sale and got a bunch of hostas. I took the kids to the museum to give Jonathan a little break (fear not - I had the night out last night and dined at the awesome sushi-burger fusion Cowfish), we came back for lunch, and then Gideon went down for a nap while I did Evelyn's hair and makeup and costuming. She had a birthday party, with recital portraits right in the middle of the party time. Luckily the locations allowed us to leave, do pictures, and go right back to the party. She even played party games and ate a cupcake before pictures without any problems. They grow up so fast! Evelyn and I got home from the party to find Jonathan raking pine needles in the backyard while Gideon played, and we hung out in the yard for a good long while. Now we're all just hanging out on the couch watching a movie together.
An ordinary day. Perfect.
