Evelyn's First Haircut

Yesterday Evelyn had her very first haircut. No more baby mullet!


She did great. We were a little worried, as the five kids ahead of her had gone back and quickly started screaming at the top of their lungs. But she was just fine. Give her a cup of animal crackers and all is well with the world.


There really wasn't much to the haircut itself - cut of the mullet, trim a tiny bit here and there, add a clip and call it good. It was so quick I'm pretty sure the stylist could easily get 5 kids in per hour, which is probably good. I mean, you want to keep people who wield scissors near your screaming child's head very happy.


After her haircut, Evelyn got a card to put into this machine, which then spit out a prize. She'd watched other kids do this while we waited and she was very excited to get her prize.


It was a slap bracelet! I told her that those were cool 20 years ago. I guess they're making a comeback!
