... Okay so I'm actually coming up on the 23-week mark with this pregnancy. Time flies when you're interning/dissertating/mothering and trying to keep the vomit at bay!
The past week has been a little rough - I've had a cough/cold that won't seem to go away, and Jonathan caught some kind of icky virus that had him puking all day and night for most of the week. I'm very thankful that said virus does not seem to have attacked me or Evelyn yet! But between the two of us we haven't gotten much quality parenting done this week (Nilla wafers for dinner, anyone?), let alone work or housework (surely your temporary inflatable pool is still up in your backyard too?).
But, onward and upward!
Baby Dos is doing great by all accounts. My doc said I'm "just a picture of health" (as I'm sneezing and hacking up lung butter in her office last week) but I think she was referring more to Dos than to me. Here's a belly photo so you can speculate as to Dos's sex based on how I'm carrying. I'd say I'm carrying high but really my torso is only so big... so I don't know that I could ever carry low. And of course we all know that guessing sex based on how one carries is just about 50% accurate. Anyway I feel like I'm carrying high because my belly starts jutting out and I can feel all my organs crammed right up under my chest.

Jonathan might not have noticed that I'm standing in a ray of bright sunshine that looks like it slices my belly in half... sorry about that! I'm also not sure what is happening with my hair here. Ick. I did get it cut and very subtly highlighted, but I haven't done anything but throw it back in a ponytail lately so forgive me for the weirdness ;) Oh and makeup? Pssssh. I haven't touched that in 23 weeks I'm sure.
And here are some pictures from the big 20-week ultrasound where they checked out all the good stuff like Dos's heart and brain and limbs. If things continue to go well, this will be my last ultrasound. Yaaay! Because I'm now on Jonathan's high deductible health insurance plan and I can assure you that ultrasounds are not cheap. (Also, our deductible resets on January 1 so we'll get to pay the exorbitant hospital fees for Dos's birth almost completely out of pocket. Hooray for us... and more motivation to avoid as much medical intervention as possible!)
So, ultrasound pics:

There you have two 3D images of the face. In the top one, baby's left arm is curled up with the hand right by his/her left ear. Cute.
The third one is a profile shot.

And there you have two profiles and the last one is a bottom-up look at both feet.
Now I'm off. Pretty sure Evelyn has coated herself in a layer of peanut butter while Jonathan's been snoring on the couch as I write this.
