Las palabras de Evelyn

Evelyn sees me working on the computer so much lately that she wanted to give it a try and give mom a rest from staring at the screen. So here's Evelyn's report on her own academic life thus far. It's never too early to start the CV, right?

I wake up pretty early on school days. I think it's around 6. That's what I'm told. I stare at my mobiles and think for a while and then start to explore my crib and hum a little to get mom to come pick me up. We eat and then I try to catch a nap in bed with dad while mom gets ready for the day.

Getting ready seems awfully complicated. I play while mom and dad run around getting themselves ready, packing armfuls of bags for me and mom and all our school stuff for the day, and sorting out my food and milk with labels and all. It's a lot of work. My parents are pretty awesome for doing all that in the morning.

Then we head to the car. If I'm having a particularly cute day, we stop and take a picture on the way.

I think the ride to school is something like "half an hour" whatever that means. I say it's long enough to squeeze in a power nap so I'm ready to go when I get to school.

... Because when I get to my classroom, there are things to DO! One of my favorite things to do is this:

I try to figure it out, but so far I can't say I'm sure who that smart and talented baby is. She's looking right at me. My friend Clayton likes to play with me too. Well, he did before he moved into a new classroom with the other one-year-olds. I think we'll be reunited though.

After some playtime and the all-important snack and milk break, I sometimes partake in an art project or two. One of my early works, "La Flor," was even featured in our class's art show a couple months back.

I'm always up for some literacy time too. Miss Cristina makes the books so much fun. I try to climb right in her lap during storytime.

I might take a quick nap here and there at school, but there's just so much to do that I can never sleep for long. Even when it's cold, we are sure to go outside for at least a few minutos every day. One of my favorite things about going outside is the buggy ride to and from the playground. Even mom admits that she wishes she could ride in the buggy. Here I am with my friends Finn, Meadow, Monica, Jack, and Lorenzo. We're one cool hive of Abejitas, if I do say so myself.

I couldn't get mom to take pictures of our music time, but we sing and play instruments every day too and I love it. There's this one song where Miss Cristina asks us all to scream and I am all about that!

Next week I hear that we're having a little celebration for Valentine's Day and I'm told that my favorite dog Olive gets to visit our classroom! We're learning all about animals and I'm going to meet some of my friends' pets too. Pretty cool, right?

Well, that's about it for now. School wears me out but I do love it.

I love this report from Ms. E. Maybe she should have her own blog! I know this Meemaw would read it every day!
