Half Birthday

Evelyn is six months old today. We celebrated with a visit to the doctor's office this morning for a few injections and an oral vaccination. Evelyn recovered quickly and was her normal self all day. And for the stats lovers in the audience:
  • Height: 49th percentile
  • Weight: 41st percentile
  • Head: 84th percentile
That is one seriously large noggin. And... with a height and weight so close to spot-on "normal," wouldn't you think that she'd fit just right in 6 month clothes? Not so. Everything I buy now is sized 12 months or older. Some of it's a little bit big (onesie in the picture is size 12 months) but most of it fits pretty well.

We rounded out the day with a little visit to The Diapering Doula store where some of our favorite people were hanging out, lunch with Jonathan, and then hanging out at Jonathan's office while he finished up some work. Once home, it was time to snuggle with dad in the hammock, eat some apples and carrots, and head to bed.

Not too shabby! And just for fun, here's a picture I ran into last night when I was organizing some files on my computer. It was taken almost exactly one year ago.

What a difference a year makes!

I bet you are feeling much better at this time of year than you were back then. But worth every bit..right? Terry

Hi! I just wanted to leave a note to let you know I've become a faithful reader of your blog--by way of Kristine's blog (she's a dear friend, we grew up together!)--and she encouraged me to start my own blog adventure. I enjoy your stories, I find you to be a creative writer, and we actually have daughters that are nearly 2 months apart! Another reason I've enjoyed following your stories--first-time parenting! (And, I can tell you're a great mom!)
I hope all is well for you and your family!
