Yesterday Jonathan celebrated his first Father's Day. Evelyn and I wanted to make it as special as we could, because he is one of the very best fathers out there. See how much he loves his sweet baby?
So we let him pick his very favorite meal for dinner.
And we got him a sweet glass and IOU for an Original Sin Hard Cider (thanks for the idea, Tyler's!) - since his favorite drinks are the cider-y drinks.
And we ordered him a nice big comfy hammock:
... although we might be spending more time in that than he will, since he'll be busy with his new toy:
Jonathan spent most of the day assembling the grill - luckily he enjoys doing that sort of thing, so it was a good day for him. The grill is gas on one side and charcoal on the other, which is good for a guy who couldn't decide between the convenience of gas and the flavor of traditional.
After Evelyn went to sleep, we finished out the day with his final request: that I watch the first episode of Firefly with him.
And I did, until I fell asleep at about 9. I was just a teensy bit worn out from a long weekend with my friends from Kansas. So I owe him a little Firefly time as well.
So that was his first Father's Day. I'm sure they won't always be quite so grand, but I'm glad we were able to make this one awesome.
