3 Months

Evelyn is three months old today. If I lived in the "real world," I'd be returning to full-time work after my maternity leave right now. And I've never been so thankful to not be in that real world.

She smiles when we greet her after a nap or a good night's sleep. She babbles. She lifts herself up on her forearms when she's on her tummy.

She's serious. A thinker.

She makes the best sad face and noises. She can curl the corners of her mouth down and let out the world's saddest pre-cry - right until we pick her up and sing her a song. She's always liked "Hush Little Baby" even though I can never remember what daddy's going to buy her. So I just make it up.

She has a social security card and she's paid for in full.

Three months down. Where do they go?
