Evelyn hit the 8-week mark yesterday and will be 2 months old on Monday. I love how the weeks and months don't match exactly. It's like the whole 10 months vs. 9 months of pregnancy thing. How long is 40 weeks? But I digress.
We're learning and she's learning every day. I've learned to do something right to avoid being sprayed with various substances too frequently, though I do still get a nice spot of curdled milk on me every now and then. And you know how much I love that. We also learned the other night that the pack 'n play has a "rumble" thing so it will vibrate to soothe her! Why didn't we discover this two months ago? We thought the thing was just a music/lights machine but no. It's so much more. And that's only 2 of the many things we've been learning.
We've spent pretty much all of our spare time over at the new house trying to finish the living room paint so we can start moving in. We plan to paint the hallway next, but we want to wait until our big furniture and such is in place to start the hallway.
It's hard work painting and stopping to nurse or soothe the Mouse, but it's actually going pretty well. She is a pretty awesome baby and we definitely acknowledge that every day and try not to take it for granted. Things can always change. But for now we typically get 5-8 hours of sleep at a stretch, fussyness or crying only when she's wet or hungry, and a pretty chill little one overall.
