Evelyn noticed her feet today. I've been wondering if she's been eyeing them lately when we're in the car, so I've tried to leave her feet uncovered in the carseat. But today I was holding her so that she could sit up with my legs as back supports as I laid on my back, and she stared and stared at her wiggly little toes. I did some "This little Piggy" talk and she wasn't really into it. She just wanted to look. And look.
We had a good day. It was my "day off" this week - no school stuff had to be done and I had no appointments so the Mouse and I were home for the day. During her morning nap I managed to clean up the garage and photograph and list a bunch of stuff on Freecycle. We also hung some diapers out to dry and attempted to mow the lawn (with a reel mower). After all that excitement it was time for both us to nap, and when we awoke the house was an inferno. So Jonathan came home and promptly got the lawnmower up to speed, called the a/c repair folks, and started the process of patching the drywall in the living room. We're just a model of productivity today!
Oh, and because I was obsessively checking my email and Freecycle to see which items would be taken, I happened upon a post from someone offering a bag of BumGenius diapers! Free! Seriously! I picked them up tonight and found 13 BumGenius One-Size shells (the kind with velcro) and 26 or so stuffers for them. The velcro is a little worn and the colors look a little faded overall, but seriously - FREE cloth diapers!? And those things run like $18 a pop! So it was pretty much my lucky day. At least it took the edge off the cost of getting our air conditioner up and running again :)
