All's well.

Yep, we've reached the five-week countdown. Or, if you're the pregnant one, it's the 2-7 week (pleaseGodletitbeclosertothreethanseven) countdown. I finally have my nice round symmetrical belly! I have to remind myself that I did want a nice Buddha belly like this. That was before I understood that having said belly means that my organs are rearranging themselves in rather uncomfortable ways.

We had an ultrasound today to check growth and fluid and lo and behold Baby B is right on track. The pictures they took weren't so great - there's not a lot of room in there so it's a little bit difficult to discern what's what. But we didn't see any of the special bits, which is of course good for the element of surprise at the birth. We saw a cute little profile, saw Baby B having the hiccups, and found out that (s)he might have some super long toes! And as for the latest poll, "How much will Baby B weigh?", here are the results: 0 votes for 5-5.9, 4 votes for 6-6.9, 8 votes for 7-7.9, 3 votes for 8-8.9, and 1 vote for 9+. Today the estimate was 5.5-6 lb. and we've got some time to go!

I'm off to try to conquer Mt. Laundry. Our assignment before the 36 week appointment next Friday is to have bags packed, carseat installed, birth preferences written and printed, and directions to our house for the midwives printed! Whew! Better start washing those diapers too.
