12 to go!

No photo... I know, I know... But I promise I'll take one this weekend.

We're at 28 weeks and 4 days, and I met the fifth midwife today - Sarah. She is super nice. After some good strong poking and prodding, she determined that Baby B is definitely in a vertical position (or, as she said, "There's definitely something in your pelvis") but she's not 100% sure Baby is head-down yet. That's okay because they don't really care what position Baby is in until 34 weeks. But vertical is good. The heart rate was in the 160s. And I've now gained a total of 6 pounds! Whew! She said that's totally fine and everything looks good. I measured 28 centimeters (that's how tall the ol' uterus is), which is great because I'm not measuring small or big and that means Baby is just the right size.

Even more exciting is the fact that Jonathan finally got to feel the baby yesterday! (S)he was doing a happy dance while I was getting ready to head to my practicum site in the morning, and I needed a rest so I laid down on the bed and put Jonathan's hand on my belly just in case. He thought he felt a couple - I would tell him when kicks happened - but then he told me that he felt one before I told him, so it was for sure!

Alright I'm off... reports to write, textbooks to order, thank-you cards to assemble.

P.S. Olive LOVES all baby toys. She got ahold of a stuffed monkey and our duck towel this evening and proudly marched them into the living room to munch on them. Luckily I intervened and confiscated the goods. It might be time to get the beast a couple new toys to help her feel included. :)

how much did Olive miss you? Did she behave well enough at the kennel that they will take her back? Terry B
