On Sunday afternoon, after some reminiscing and driving around Lawrence, we drove down to Wichita with Jonathan's parents. Then we headed over to Hideki's house to hang out with the college guys (and Chris!) and have a little baby shower!
I liked having Jonathan there for the shower. The guys were really funny and I loved the cute stuff they picked out for us. And Chris kept things moving with games and decorations and all the feminine touches. We are so grateful and blessed to be surrounded by these friends - even if they are far, far away. They sure do tempt us to move back to Kansas... if only Jonathan's job would magically decide to move its headquarters to Wichita.
Yesterday we saw Sherlock Holmes at The Warren, which just gets better and better. I mean, they hand out mints after the movie. They have a curtain that raises when the movie starts. They clean their restrooms regularly. The staff wear white gloves and little suits. If you're not pregnant you can enjoy a nice adult beverage with your movie. Or a meal. I could go on and on. The movie was really good, too! Like, really good. Oh I also did a little shopping with Jonathan's mom and discovered that Old Navy stores that actually have maternity sections are amazing because they have excellent sales! So much better than the ridiculous prices Motherhood thinks they can charge.
Well, today we're planning to hit up The Donut Whole and see some more family. It's so nice to have this break. So far, it's even better than we were hoping it would be.
