Definitely pregnant.

We heard a heartbeat today! I could not stop smiling. The midwife said it was about 150 BPM, which I hear is a good thing. Hooray!

What else... they took our picture for our file, which was cute. They work really hard to include your support person in the whole experience, so they talked to Jonathan a lot and he was with me every step of the appointment. Even when my feet were in the stirrups! He's amazing.

I also got another free book, bringing the free book count to 3. So if you need reading material, just get pregnant. Or go to grad school. Or do both and you'll never ever be short on things you should be reading.

Oh I did lose 7 lbs. so far. They're not too worried, since I am such a good planner and I started the pregnancy with some extra weight on board already. Ha. So I'm going to keep toughing it out. (What's that you say? I'm not toughing it out - I'm whining and crying all the time? Well... I just want you to experience it with me so you can share my joy at 12-14 weeks when I feel human again.)

Because I like to make appointments on the same day, I also visited the optometrist today. Sadly, my vision is still impeccable and I do not need the glasses I've always wanted.

And coming up in the future: next appointment is the first week of October. I'll do a glucose test, which I'll have to do again later just to be safe. They'll measure me and check little kumquat's heart rate, and that's about it! We'll have an ultrasound at UNC sometime around Thanksgiving, maybe a little before... so I'll be sure to keep this updated for my own memory's sake and for all of you eager readers.

Count me as your most eager reader! So glad to hear all is well. So sorry to hear you STILL do not need glasses! (not)...Think of it as not having another expense. That is a good thing right? So happy and glad that all is going well. Terry B.
