Top Ten

Highlights from our quick trip to Kansas and back:

10. We left our camera at a rest stop in Kentucky. Originally a downer, it has turned into an opportunity for me to think about getting a new little camera.

9. We got to see SO many friends and family members.

8. Food: Artichoke, Donut Whole, new breakfast place in Wichita, Dillon's Chinese (yep, I love it), 23rd St. Brewery... we missed NuWay, Let's Be Frank, and Sugar Sisters - but we'll be back.

7. Seeing friends' new homes. Pretty cool to see everyone growing up.

6. Quality time in the car.

5. Seeing the St. Louis arch just before sunrise. It was blue and purple and just incredible.

4. Going to/being in JR and Chelsea's wedding. Again with the growing up.

3. Our hearts grew fonder for our crazy animals, and I think theirs did too. Olive's been zonked since we got home and Syd wants to cuddle all the time. Olive also had some exceptional care while we were away.

2. Staying up late, sleeping in, laughing, and not having to do any work. Vacations are good.

1. We found out that we're pregnant.

....
It's early yet, but I've had a very hard time keeping things under wraps and I think my mom has too since it went up on Facebook ;). We just found out on Friday and I already had an appointment scheduled for early August so I'll get the professional confirmation then. For now, we're pretty stoked and hoping that things go well! Stay tuned for future updates.

Make sure your Dr's office knows it will be a New OB appointment so they can schedule more time for you. Most OB/GYN offices will make you reschedule a NOB appointment if you show up just for a regular checkup.

Good luck! I look forward to many more updates in the future on your progress and growth.

We are so very excited for you. We were a bit surprised at first as we were expecting the "trying" to begin in August. However, now that we're recovered, we are giddy with excitement.

Please let us know if you need anything. We will do our best to not offer unsolicited advice as this is your journey to take your way, but we do want you to know that we will be here for you in whatever capacity you need us.

PS- If you do stick with the birthing center, I really, really, really want to know all the details and you may find it difficult to keep me away as I want to know what a not strapped to a hospital bed birth is like.
