Resolution Report - 9 months down.

As you may recall, my New Year's Resolution was to "read more books." A vague goal, yes. But I've been trying. To recap, we will soon enter the tenth month of 2008. Nine months down and three to go. And with today being the first day of Autumn, I have one season to wrap up my year of reading vaguely more. I have started and finished the following books this year:

1. The Kite Runner
2. The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook
3. The Ivy Chronicles
4. The Overachievers
5. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls
6. Head Cases: Stories of Brain Injury and its Aftermath
7. Parenting, Inc.
8. Stolen Innocence: My Story of Growing up in a Polygamous Sect, Becoming a Teenage Bride, and Breaking Free of Warren Jeffs
9. And Sometimes Why
10. The Year of Living Biblically
11. Cheer!: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders
12. I Was Told There'd be Cake
13. Sea Glass
14. The Almost Moon

I've started a few, put down a few, read most (but not all) of a few more... and now my nose is stuck in textbooks and articles...

I suppose my favorite novel of the year is still The Kite Runner. My favorite non-fiction book is The Year of Living Biblically. I highly recommend both.

okay. So you're a reader... I just finished Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood and slammed through it in about 3 days. I really liked her something about something A Handmaidens Tail (years ago) and this newest one was a nice get-away read.
Now I've just started The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and I'm LOVING it! May have to ship it your way when I'm done... Which, in all probability will be tomorrow. I am so DYIN for something that'll take me a week or more to finish! I want to read that blah blah blah about a polygamist sect book. Do you still have it? I love you and miss you just a bit more than always. XOXOmom

:) I am a library fan now so I don't own most of the books I read. But it's a good one.

Good job on the reading and still being in school at the same time! My book list would always slow down when classes started. Can you believe that I haven't even finished the book I started on the plane here yet?! Soon though. BTW you read Reviving Ophelia in high school. You got caught.
