I woke up relatively early this morning to take in a sunrise over the Atlantic. I was admittedly a little bit late, but thanks to some cloud cover out on the horizon I was able to see the first peek of the pink sun.
Again we took to the beach for another day. Sorry, I'm a huge nerd and I have to quote Thoreau whenever I'm near a beach. It's just beautiful. There were quite a few jellyfish this morning when we were out, which makes things more exciting and also makes people-watching fun. Yesterday there was this little girl getting dangerously close to a jelly, so I told her to watch out and she proceeded to scream and run out of the ocean. I hope she's not scarred. Adrian also found a very large beach flea, but thankfully no sea roaches.
Kure Beach is such a quaint, perfect little beach town. People ride bikes, people have kittens and puppies running around their yards, people walk around half-dressed and covered in sand. It's all laid-back, as it should be.

And we're particularly thankful that he had three interviews in the first three days of this week. One has already said no (we didn't like them anyway - I promise I'm not rationalizing), one seems rather ambivalent and also asked for his GPA (to every
In news related to my New Year's Resolution, I have been reading again after quite the lull. I blame the laptop and its plethora of entertainment options for my lack of reading; but I'm glad to be back in the books. This week I've started and finished Cheer! and The Year of Living Biblically. I've also started And Sometimes Why. I grabbed these three books during a last-minute library run before we headed to the beach, and I'd only heard of one of them (Year of Living Biblically). Brief synopsis: a guy tries to follow teh bible, literally, for a year. That's definitely going to be one of my favorites from the year. It also makes me want to read A.J. Jacobs's other book - The Know-It-All. So, there you are. I'll consolidate my list and post a recap sometime when I'm not at the beach and that doesn't seem vaguely like work.
