What's in a name?

As I was updating the blog this morning, I realized that I never shared with you the meaning of our blog name. Contrary to google's top search results for "loaf of love," it's not about World Vision or hearth bread. Google got it right with Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread, a one-act play by David Ives. Jonathan and I saw Philip Glass... during the Spring "One-Act Plays" series when we were in high school. The play includes a series of words and phrases repeated endlessly while a man is in a bakery attempting to buy bread, including, "Philip needs a loaf of love." And of course in the production we saw, where (if I remember correctly) an exchange student from France was playing the role of Philip Glass, "loaf of love" was pronounced more like "loaf of luuuuuuuuuuuuv." It was a comedic moment. Jonathan and I sometimes remember it. Sometimes everyone needs a loaf of love.

Were you aware of it?
