My sleep schedule changes rather dramatically in the Summer. See, I've learned to become a somewhat diligent student... so when school is in session it's rare to see me awake as late as *gasp* midnight. Yeah, I get some crap for that when I pass out just when things are getting exciting on social evenings, but I don't mind too much. I like sleep. As soon as school's out, though, the switch flips and there's no way I can possibly fall asleep before midnight. I revert back to my glorious undergrad days of staying up til 2 AM and waking at 9 or 10, and then of course there's always time for a nap during the day. (My roommate Ashley and I used to close the blinds, pull our dark curtains closed, and have designated naptimes regularly. It was awesome.)
... So it is that I'm up later than Jonathan every night, and I'm not fully awake and dressed until noon every day. I'll enjoy it while I can, because things will change when we move!
What have we been up to, you ask? Me: packing, packing, searching for jobs for me and for Jonathan (more for Jonathan than me, but I've posted my credentials on a few babysitting/nannying sites). Jonathan: working, playing games, moving the heavy boxes from upstairs to the garage (I do a day's worth of packing and he does 15 minutes of carrying, but I think it evens out). Jonathan did have an interview with the department of transportation in NC earlier this week. We think it went well, but they have others to interview this week and they're going to take their sweet time before they let us know the verdict. In the mean time, the applications continue, and we wait.
We're planning to roll out of KS two weeks from today. It still doesn't quite feel real. It probably won't until we start unpacking in our new place out there. In the meantime here, it's more goodbyes to friends and family, more sorting out logistics like shutting off utilities and me getting my complete immunization record for NC State (blegh).
And more sleeping.
