I have scheduled my thesis defense for Monday, April 14th at 4:00 PM.

Now I just have to finish it!

40 Things I'll Do Before I Turn 40 One of the most positively influential teachers I had in high school was Mrs. Fry, who taught English and, more importantly, Life. That wasn't an official class, Life. It was just these continuous lessons about life that were expertly interwoven with critical literature reviews and writing techniques. She once told us about this person who made a list of 100 things he wanted to do during his lifetime. This was before "Bucket List" was a movie and a thing , and I still stick with the name Mrs. Fry taught us: Life List. I rooted around for mine, and unfortunately couldn't find it. (I did, however, find the final product of another lesson wherein we passed around papers with our names at the top and our classmates anonymously wrote specific appreciations for us.) I remember some of the things on my list, and I've included as many as I can remember here provided they remained unfinished as of today. Without further adieu...

I've been working on this playlist for the long and winding road trip to NC. If you've got too much time on your hands (like me), feel free to browse and offer suggestions. I'd be especially grateful for upbeat or faster-tempo songs - I tend to lean toward slow songs, and those aren't going to keep me awake. ************* Jonathan's interview is tomorrow, which may be why I'm still awake. I'm thankful that he's sleeping soundly so his brain will be in top interview condition tomorrow at lunchtime. ************* I reserved the moving truck and trailer today, and we emailed our landlady with our move-out date (June 19th). I guess that means it's official!

The Beagle update!

We learned early this morning that our puppy is ready for us to meet her! We hope that it can be this weekend, but if not then it will be sometime this week. We also get to see pictures! I'll introduce you to the litter. This Punkin, the mom. She was rescued from a shelter in Winston-Salem and the day after her rescue she had her litter! Here's Bruno, the only male in the litter. He's also the largest in the litter. Here are two of the girls, Bippity (l) and Boppity (r). Um, adorable. And this is the last girl, Boo. You can really see the Spaniel in Boo. They say she's really quite different from the rest. Can a litter have multiple fathers? That's the blog question of the day. So they obviously don't know who the father is here, and I'm not very good at looking at a dog and knowing breeds. They've got kinda droopy faces (ADORABLE) and their snouts are a bit shorter than you see on some beagles. However, puppy snouts are always a little small. Well, the ...
